Frostbox Industries is an English business, located in Staffordshire, manufacturing unregulated box mods. I’m reviewing one of their dual 18650 G Box mods. It comes in a military styled box with the company’s logo in the middle.
There have been some improvements to the original G Box.
Starting at the top there is a 22mm 510 connection that sits just off centre. Of course bigger tanks can be used but if they’re over 22mm there will be overhang.
This is one of the negatives that’s been fixed in the new version. It now has a 24mm 510 connector which is in the centre - yay! Now that 24mm tanks seems to be the new standard this is a great update.
Moving on, the battery door is held together by eight small, but strong, magnets; there’s a little give, but really nothing to worry about. There’s also a little thumb groove in the middle edge of the battery door to help open up this bad boy.
Inside you’ll find two, very well labelled, 18650 trays that are in series.
I have to say the presentation of the wiring, fire button, battery trays and connections are 10/10. It’s a truly beautifully designed mod that has had a lot of time and effort put into it.
There isn’t too much aesthetically to talk about, the one button it has (fire button) is springier than I like, I prefer clicky, but I understand why they needed to use this type of button.
This should go without saying but all unregulated box mods are for advance users only! They can be very fun to use, but also very dangerous. Please read up on Ohm’s Law, battery safety and general safety information before using an unregulated device.
The cons: firstly, my whole mod is unbalanced, when put down on a flat surface it has a slight lean. Next, the battery door has some movement, not the end of the world, but it can get annoying.
Lastly the 510 connection isn’t in the middle and is only a 22mm connection, this has been fixed in the recent version but it’s still something I wanted to mention.
The positives, for me, far outweigh the negatives. It’s beautifully built, simple but effective.
An advanced user looking to buy one of these will not be disappointed.
