The first thing I noticed about the Rogue Mod was the stunning Rogue USA branded leather pouch for both the mod and RDA.
The mod I’m reviewing is the LE naval brass with matching rogue force RDA and, having used it for a couple of weeks I can honestly say this mechanical mod is like no other on the market.
Rogue Mods have designed it, not only for ergonomics and style, but they’ve also made sure safety is a priority.
The mod has four vent holes at the top of the tube so, in an unfortunate event of a battery venting, this mod has more than adequate ventilation for the gases to escape; this in turn stops the mod from any chance of exploding. There’s also a recess under the 510 connector which has been designed to prevent any hard shorts if the mod is fired without an RDA.
The mods are available in Aerospace Aluminium, Terrilium Copper, Naval Brass and Stainless Steel. With these in mind J. Mark Designs run a small number for each laser etched design .
Certain designs are rare - with only 20 made, however, J. Mark Designs’ never run more than 250 units of their limited editions. One off acid etched designs are also available.
The switch is unique to Rogue Mods and, once it is screwed into the mod, there’s no need for any battery adjustment - which means no battery rattle! What also makes the switch exclusive is the chemically treated metal alloy compound. This is resistant to conductivity and eliminates the chance of a hot button. The spring was manufactured solely for Rogue Mods.
Moving on to the Rogue Force RDA - this beautifully machined RDA has four posts with large post holes making it easy to fit larger builds, such as alien or fused Clapton coils.
Only the highest quality screws are used - provided by Holokrome and Allen key from Eklind. With these top quality heat treated products you are assured a tight clamp on your wire without rounding off the screws.
The Rogue Force RDA has a very nice protruding pin, with adequate insulation, making it completely safe to use with hybrid mods. This RDA also comes with an option to have a black drip tip or matching material depending on what you have chosen. The drip tip fitting is a standard 810 giving you the option of using aftermarket or your own custom drip tip.
J. Mark Designs pride themselves on using the highest quality materials to make Rogue Mods. All their materials are sourced and manufactured in the USA.
Once production is complete all the mods are examined by J. Mark himself to ensure the quality of each one is the highest of standard.
After using this mod for a few weeks I can honestly say I’m genuinely impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail that is put into these set ups.
The threads and switch are smooth and it’s clear that everything is made with precision. I can definitely say it’s one of the harder hitting mods in the market, well worth the money and a definite purchase for a collector or even as a first authentic mechanical mod.
One of my top tube mods to date: 10/10
